Laura was born in Calgary but has called Halifax, Nova Scotia home for most of her life. There, she obtained her Bachelor of Commerce from Saint Mary's University, and her Juris Doctor from Dalhousie University's Schulich School of Law.
At Dalhousie, Laura was a member of the Wellness Committee, Pro-bono Students Canada, and also spent a semester working at the Dalhousie Legal Aid Clinic. After law school, Laura articled in Ottawa at a prominent criminal defence firm before moving further west to Calgary.
Since being called to the Alberta Bar in 2014, Laura has practiced primarily in family law. A detail-oriented person, Laura has never met a spreadsheet she didn’t like. She believes in crafting comprehensive solutions for clients that are built to minimize conflict going forward and reduce the need to return to Court.
Laura has a particular interest in child support and parenting-related matters. She enjoys representing children and is working towards her qualification as a Parenting Coordinator so that she can help parents resolve their parenting issues in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
Laura is also an animal lover who volunteers her time fostering animals through the Pawsitive Match Rescue Foundation as well as as a mentor through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Calgary and Area.
When she is not working or volunteering, Laura likes to spend time with her husband and two dogs, hike, cook, and travel.
